Happy May!!!! At Last a Blog

OK, I really don't have any excuse for not updating this blog site more often - I am busy you know!!! I'll have to start getting up earlier in the morning.
Things are still going pretty much the same as they have been - two fairly good weeks and one bad week.
I'm now on week 22 of my current 30 week treatment plan, so it's good to see the next eight weeks within reach. However, one of the chemo drugs I'm on has been discontinued now (they can only give so much before it reaches toxic levels). So now, instead of getting that drug once every three weeks, I get a different one once a week. I still have to go to the hospital every Wed. for chemo but home care gives me the other drug at home on Thursdays. Then I have others to take as well.
I did manage to get away this past weekend with a few girlfriends - just an overnight trip, but it was my first trip away from home in the past 9 months other than the hospital so we had a great time!!. Just takes a week to recover!!.
So nice to see some warm (well, maybe not today) weather and flowers out and get outside a bit more - it's just frustrating sometimes not having the strength and energy to do much......except make potential lists of things for Mike to do!
Hope all is well with everyone and you have some fun things planned for the summer. Call any time.
Janet

Hurray...an update finally. That's great that you got away with your friends, hope you behaved yourself! Actually, hope didn't 'cause that's more fun!!! Get yourself a copy of SNAP magazine and you'll see some pictures from the Treat Yourself Auction. Hope you come in soon for a visit!

Hi Janet,
It's Les here. Remember me? If it wasn't for you I wouldn't have a job right now so thank you for helping me out. 2 weeks turned into 8 months, I got worse before I got better but now my kids and I have the house and some security and Murray is gone. It took me that long to get rid of him!

I am very grateful to be back and earning a living. I am working with Ann and Bruce in Community Development as well as helping out at the front and I am really enjoying it. Everyone has been so kind and patient with me, it really means alot. But you didn't accept my resignation so I will always be eternally gratefull Janet.

You are an inspiration and I know that Mike and your kids and family are a big part of your successful treatment. As my mother would say "keep your pecker up!". She's an English war bride so they are full of weird sayings.

My sister changed it to "keep you tits up" because woman don't have peckers. Hope you are laughing right now because that's the idea.

Anyway, you are in my thoughts and when you are feeling up to it I would love to buy you lunch.

Regards,
Les
